We found the breakfast to be amazing. The chef was just delightful. Our room was comfortable and the bed was amazing. We slept well and were delighted to find that the room had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had dinner at the restaurant and found the food very tasty. We felt it was excellent value. We would return.

We had a lovely 3 night stay here as we made our way up to Loch Ness. The location is beautiful and the rooms nicely decorated, comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant has a gorgeous view and the food was delicious. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty of it. The staff especially Laura and Amanda were great, so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Andrew was great with his local knowledge and advice on where to visit. Definitely worth a stay.

Popped in here for a quick drink, stayed for the excellent service, atmosphere and food. During our last night staying in Ardfern we popped in for a drink. Immediately we were greeted by a lovely host who went on to make sure our time there was as pleasant as possible. The service was fantastic and the food was top notch too - try the Cullen Skink. Nothing was too much trouble for the bar staff who kept making sure that we enjoyed our food and that the fire was topped up with wood to make sure we stayed warm. This is a lovely, wee cozy pub with a pleasant atmosphere. We don't have a dog but I love how it was dog friendly and the staff made sure the pooches were well looked after by providing treats and water. This was a perfect example of Scottish hospitality and I'd highly recommend it if you fancy a quick pint or a bite to eat. The service was so good a friendly little spaniel that the whole bar loved decided to pop up to the bar to patiently wait for a wee dog biscuit and the staff happily obliged. When we joked about whether humans get treats too, one of the bar staff who looked after us for the whole night let us taste her homemade chocolate brownie which was out of this world. I'd suggest that gets put on the menu because it would go down beautifully with a nice glass of milk or some ice cream. When we come to the area again, it will be the first place we visit.

Andrew the owner stayed up waiting for us until nearly 4:00 due to car problems that we experienced on the drive over. We were welcomed and given permission to check out later had we wished to rest longer after such a long night. The room was clean, included many toiletries expected in 4-5 star hotels. Beds were comfortable too. The breakfast was one of the most delicious and generous portions I’ve ever had at an hotel. Check out photos.

We booked a meal as were visitors to the local marina. The food was excellent and one of the best meals we had on our trip. It was clear the staff were new/inexperienced but they did a fantastic job . It was a tad strange to be served our dinner by what looked like a football hooligan in old jeans and trainers , a football top and wearing a jacket. He turned out to be the owner who we overheard say he was only helping out as it was his night off . So what owner of a hotel takes a night off on a weekend when there are 30 or 40 for dinner and new staff ? Strange but cant take that away from the food , it was first class.

Great little stay. Lots of car parking. Can't fault the location , central to the village. Great views of the water and hills in the background .Staff were chatty and understanding. Fab breakfast. Did not stop for food in evening. Has got a pub with outdoor seating. Downsides , short staffed so checking in had to wait a bit but pub was busy and room was very warm but it was summer. Could get some air con

Went with friends and had a really lovely evening. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. They even let us get our instruments out and sing some songs and play some tunes. Definitely a place to return to.

During our recent stay in the area, we had the pleasure of dining at The Galley Of Lorne Inn several times. The location is picturesque, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the food nothing short of exceptional. Every dish we tried was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavour – a true highlight of our visit. We were also very impressed with the service provided by the young women working at the bar and in the restaurant. They were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful, making our larger group of 13 feel genuinely welcome and well cared for. Unfortunately, one experience significantly detracted from our otherwise positive impression. A middle-aged man, who appeared to be the owner of the establishment, displayed behaviour that can only be described as dismissive and unprofessional – a stark contrast to the rest of the team. One member of our group ordered a glass of white wine in the evening, only to find it served at room temperature. When she politely pointed this out and asked for a chilled glass, the gentleman simply remarked, “I suppose I’ll have to check the fridge,” turned his back, and walked away. He made no attempt to replace the wine or offer an immediate solution. Several minutes later, he returned – not with a fresh, chilled glass of wine, but with a water glass containing three half-melted ice cubes, which he handed to her with the comment: “You can put these in.” We were all left speechless. The indifference and lack of hospitality were frankly astonishing. In the hospitality industry – and particularly from an owner – one expects at least a basic level of courtesy and guest care. This interaction felt dismissive and disrespectful, especially in an otherwise well-run establishment. Conclusion: The Galley Of Lorne Inn delivers excellent food, a lovely atmosphere, and service that – in most areas – is truly commendable. It’s deeply unfortunate that the owner’s attitude undermined what could have been a flawless dining experience. Genuine hospitality should be led by example, and we hope this incident serves as an opportunity for reflection and improvement.
